Volunteering Opportunities

We are always on the look out for volunteers to help around the Castle.  If you are interested in helping with refreshments or as a tour guide during our tour days, we would love to hear from you.

Special Tour Dates

Our exclusive 'ticket only' tours give you a chance to visit areas of the castle rarely seen by visitors. The Special Tour includes the main floor tour and history, as well as the second floor bedchambers and suites. We also treat Special Tour guests to afternoon tea served in the ballroom.

Dates for 2018 will be announced shortly

The Special Tour starts at 1pm with a sherry reception followed by a short history from 1066 and a tour of the first floor rooms. After a break for afternoon tea in the ballroom we ascend the Great Hall Staircase for an exclusive visit to the second floor bedchambers and suites including the State Bedchamber and Dressing Room, as well as the Prince Frederick wing set in the original Georgian house that survived when the Gothic house was built in 1848-1854.

Admission is by ticket only -
