Part of my role at Allerton Castle is to assist you, the Brides and Grooms, with planning your Wedding. This can range from creating timelines and table plans to contacting your suppliers.

1. Make it about just the two of you

It can be hard trying to stop yourself from wanting to please everyone. This could mean that you invite cousins you do not like or even book bands you hate. My biggest tip in this situation is remind yourself that your Wedding day is a special day for you and your partner. You must consider what is it that you both would like, then consider what it is you could do to make your guests happy.

2. Prioritise your to-do list

It can be easy to want to get everything out the way and rush into things. Through experience I have learnt that this method can leave you in trouble later. Firstly, I would advise you focus on the big three: the venue, the registrars (if necessary) and the caterers. Once you have these three aspects everything should fall into place.  It can be helpful to make yourself a timeline, giving due dates for completing different aspects of your day.

3. Make it personal

One of the best things about weddings are the aspects of personalities brides and grooms put into the wedding. I say enable your guests to go away learning something about you and your partner. This could be an interest you share, your favourite song or a story about how you met.

4. Look after yourself

Don’t forget that Weddings are a special occasion! They are about celebration, love and you and your partner! It is important to focus on your own wellbeing – try to avoid fad diets and overthinking aspects of your day. It is important to allot yourself some pamper time – this could mean you ensure you have a facemask and/or a glass of wine on a Friday night. It is vital to take that breather; to help you remain calm and stay focused.

5. Speak out!

Weddings can be a stressful time. If you are feeling a bit lost, bit unsure of what it is you need to do next contact me via email. I am always here to help!

Happy Planning!
