Opening Times & Prices
OPEN FROM EASTER MONDAY TO END OF OCTOBER - Allerton Castle is open for guided tours of the main floor rooms on Wednesday afternoons and Bank Holiday Monday afternoons from Easter through to the end of October. Doors open at 12.15pm, and each tour takes approximately 90 minutes. Tours start at 12.30pm; 1.30pm; 2.30pm and 3.30pm - there’s no need to book but we request that you arrive at least 10 minutes before your tour commences.
Light refreshments are available in the ballroom for visitors to enjoy.
Wheelchair access is available, please telephone to arrange or speak to a volunteer on arrival.
NO DOGS are allowed within the grounds (other than guide dogs).
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALLERTON CASTLE WILL NOT BE OPEN FOR TOURS ON WEDNESDAY 10TH OR WEDNESDAY 24TH MAY DUE TO PRIVATE FUNCTIONS

We are always on the look out for volunteers to help around the Castle. If you are interested in helping with refreshments or as a tour guide during our tour days, we would love to hear from you.
Special Tour Dates
Special Tours include an exclusive tour of the second floor rooms not usually open to the public and afternoon tea in the ballroom.
Dates for 2017 are -
Tuesday 1st August; Sunday 22nd October
Sunday 14th May is now Fully Booked
The Special Tour starts at 1pm with a sherry reception followed by a short history from 1066 and a tour of the first floor rooms. After a break for afternoon tea in the ballroom we ascend the Great Hall Staircase for an exclusive visit to the second floor bedchambers and suites including the State Bedchamber and Dressing Room, as well as the Prince Frederick wing set in the original Georgian house that survived when the Gothic house was built in 1848-1854.
Admission is by ticket only - £26.00 per person or £19.00 for HHA Members
