Having exclusive use of Allerton Castle gives complete flexibility to suit personal choice and the number of guests to be entertained. You can choose the rooms of your choice within the castle or a marquee can be erected on the terraces linking to the castle, thereby combining the splendour of the house with the extended facilities of the marquee.
The Great Hall
The Great Hall provides a stunning entrance. One of the highest Baronial Halls in England, almost 80 feet high, adorned by intricately carved oak panelling lit by stained glass windows and with galleried landings whose walls are hung with portraits. The huge log-fire provides a spectacular focal point in the Hall.
The Hall is central to the castle and gives access to the elegant Drawing Room, Ballroom, the Library with original Rosewood bookcases, the Grounds and terraces and the Billiard Room.
You may wish to use the Great Hall for your wedding ceremony, a conference or a pre-dinner drinks reception.
We have a fully licensed and reasonably priced bar which is located under the Great Stairs.
The Ballroom
A superb white fan vaulted ceiling contrasting with royal blue walls where light and movement are reflected within mirrors on either side of the room.
Countryside views can be enjoyed from the three windows across the grounds and terraces.
It is unusual to find a Ballroom in a stately home and this grand room provides the ideal setting for your wedding breakfast, conferences, dinners, exhibition displays, product launches or presentations.
For a dinner we can seat 60 guests around one large table or 120 guests on round tables of 10.
The Drawing Room
The walls of this delightful and elegant room are hung in turquoise silk with silk drapes surrounding the windows.
The chandelier is opaque blue Venetian glass, one of a pair made for the King of Naples and purchased for the Castle by the 23rd Lord Mowbray and Stourton.
The Billiard Room
The perfect space for entertaining a small number of guests or providing a retreat for the Groom, Best Man and Ushers to relax and enjoy a glass of champagne.
A full size billiard table, original to the house, is available for you to use before the ceremony.
Bedrooms - Perfect for your Wedding Night...
You may want to extend your stay at the Castle and make use of our three double en-suite bedrooms. The stunning Bridal Suite is the perfect room for the Bride and Groom, with two further en-suite double bedrooms that can be used by friends or family.
A continental breakfast can be served in the central mediaeval room which is also the perfect room for a night cap before you retire.
Marquees
For larger events in excess of 120 guests during the day, we can offer a marquee which can be linked to the castle via a covered walkway.
Please contact your Dine event manager if you're considering a marquee event - we'll be delighted to help.
